Privacy and cookies

Updated

You can search and compare hotel prices without creating an account. We do not ask for your name, email or payment details, and your favourites are stored in your own browser – not with us.

Who is the data controller

Nettbureau AS, Kjølberggata 31, 0653 Oslo, Norway, company registration number 997 104 854, is responsible for the processing of personal data on Hotella.com.

What is stored in your browser

  • Favourites: hotels you mark with the heart are stored locally in your browser. They are never sent to us.
  • Recently viewed: hotels you have opened are stored locally in the same way, so we can show them again on the home page.
  • Technical settings: some interface choices may be stored in a cookie used only to remember your view.

You can delete all of this at any time by clearing browser data for this site.

Searches and hotel prices

When you search, we send the destination, dates and number of guests to our price provider to fetch offers from the booking sites. We do not store the prices and do not link searches to you as a person.

Measurement and advertising

We count how often visitors continue from Hotella.com to a booking site. That count is anonymous: it records the hotel, the city, the booking site and the price shown, never who you are.

We also advertise on Google. Where the law requires it, a consent banner from Cookiebot asks before any advertising or measurement cookie is set, and Google's tools stay switched off until you agree. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the cookie settings link in the banner, and the choice is remembered in your browser.

When you click through to a booking site

If you pick an offer, we show a short page confirming where you are going and then send you on to the booking site that sells the room. Their own terms and privacy policy apply there, and they may set their own cookies.

Server logs and security

As on any website, technical data such as IP address, timestamp and browser type is logged by our hosting provider to keep the service stable and secure. The logs are not used to identify individual visitors.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete any personal data we process about you, and to complain to your data protection authority. Get in touch through the contact page.
