Staying on Hong Kong Island around Central or Causeway Bay keeps you close to the business district and the tram, while Tsim Sha Tsui on the Kowloon side is usually better value for the same harbour view. Rooms are small almost everywhere, so check the floor area before booking, and expect higher rates during the big trade fairs and around Chinese New Year.
