North Goa, around Calangute, Baga and Anjuna, has the busiest beaches, nightlife and widest range of budget stays, while South Goa's beaches near Palolem and Colva are quieter and lean towards more upmarket resorts. The dry season from November to February is by far the busiest and most expensive, particularly around Christmas and New Year.
