Downtown hotels link via the Plus 15 skywalk network, useful in winter, and are close to the Stephen Avenue pedestrian mall and C-Train stations. Kensington, across the river, offers a quieter, more residential alternative a short walk or transit ride away. The Calgary Stampede in July drives the sharpest rate increase of the year.
Best time to visit: May, June and September for mild weather outside the Stampede's peak demand.
