How to find a hotel in Belgrade
Stari Grad (the old town) around Knez Mihailova is the most walkable base for sightseeing, while Savamala and New Belgrade offer more contemporary hotels and nightlife along the riverbanks. Public transport is limited compared with Western European capitals, so a central location is worth prioritising. Rooms are tightest during major festivals such as EXIT in July.
Best time to visit: April, May, September and October for mild weather and lower demand than midsummer.
